The Summer Olympics begins Friday, July 27, 2012, and ends Sunday, August 12, 2012 - London

Giorgio Armani is designing the uniforms for Team Italy for the game in London.

Stella McCartney for Team GB

Stella McCartney collaborated with Adidas to make the English Olympic team uniforms.  Her designs reflected England’s national identity. She made the designs unique for each athlete’s respective sports. There is a whole range of uniforms in blue missing the red colour of the flag.  “Something that was very important to me was to try and use that very iconic image but to dismantle it and try to soften it, break it down and make it more fashionable in a sense," McCartney - BBC News on 22^nd March. Though there is difference in design for the uniforms of each sport, the team outfit as a whole look consistent and uniting the team spirit. But sports psychologist criticized the design for the absence of red in the outfits. They said that wearing red has shown to increase probability of victory.

Uniforms designed in red, blue and white. But they are manufactured in China. A lot of discussions are going on surrounding this controversy and NY senator, Kirsten Gillibrand has gone far to introduce a bill which would require the U.S. Olympic Committee to outfit Olympic athletes in ceremonial uniforms sewn or assembled in the United States.

Designer Fashion Brand Valentino Sold at $$$

Mayhoola for Investments S.P.C., a company from Qatar has acquired Valentino Fashion Group S.p.A at an undisclosed amount. According to some sources, the amount is about $856 million. The company Mayhoola is quite exited about the fashion house Valentino for it’s brand value. They are in praise of the brand’s creativity and undisputed prestige in the fashion sphere. Stefano Sassi, CEO of Valentino is delighted with this development.

A few words on the Man behind the brand - Valentino Garavani

A man known as just Valentino in the fashion circle is admired for his creations of stylish designer clothes. Born on May 11, 1932 in Lombardy, northern Italy, Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani is mostly known for his romantic red carpet gowns. He started his career as apprentice at Jean Dessès and eventually made his own brand. He was awarded the prestigious Neiman Marcus Award for his infamous 'no-colour collection.

"Styled to Rock" - A Brand New Fashion TV Show by Rihanna

Just 24, and for her Sky is the limit, Rihanna is set to discover 12 talented fashion designers from her TV reality show “Styled to Rock” on Sky Living, a UK Television channel.

She is the executive producer of the new Sky Living fashion series. In all smiles she showed up in white top with a black baseball cap to the news reporters.

Rihanna will be staying in London for 3 months for this assignment. The show will start in the month of August on Sky Living and will go on for 10 weeks.
